House Meetings—intentional, focused small group conversations. These meetings are done for the purpose of:

• Identifying ISSUES of common concern that are widely and deeply felt;

• Identifying LEADERS who are willing and able to take action on the issues; and

• Motivating participants to take more leadership in improving their community than they would have had they not heard the concerns of fellow congregants / neighbors.

The Social Justice Community (SJC) at First Church Boston is engaged in raising awareness and taking action on current social justice issues in greater Boston. All are welcome are our monthly meetings—generally the first Sunday of the month at 12:30pm in-person and on Zoom.

We collaborate with community partners who inspire us with their creative campaigns and legislative advocacy which produces clear results. Our current community partners include: the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO), MA Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence, UU Mass Action, the UU Urban Ministry, and Beyond Plastics.
