Gigi brings a wealth of superb musical talent, knowledge, and experience to First Church, fulfilling all of the qualifications we were looking for as Organist, Choral Director, and Pianist/Accompanist in one fine musician.

As organist and pianist, Gigi says that organ was her first instrument, taking lessons as soon as she was able to reach the pedals. In 2017, she completed her Masters in Organ at Boston University. She is frequent recitalist at Trinity Church Boston, Christ Congregational Church Brockton, Old West Organ Society Boston, First Lutheran Church Boston, Marsh Chapel at Boston University, and Providence’s Grace Church. She is an excellent pianist and has been an award-winning accompanist.
As flutist, after graduating from Curtis Institute of Music, she was principal flutist of Sarah Caldwell’s Opera Company of Boston and Opera New England, positions she held for 8 seasons.

As a concert and opera singer, she performed over a span of 20 years with symphony orchestras of Boston, Boston Philharmonic, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Phoenix, San Diego and many, many more.

As choral conductor, her studies include being Scholar at Chorus America’s Conducting Academy, a Fellow at UMass Amherst’s Conducting Institute, and at Westminster Choir College’s Summer Workshop. She has trained as an orchestral conductor as well and has produced and presented special events such as John Rutter’s Requiem, Advent Lessons and Carols, A Grand Night for Singing (an opera fundraiser) and others.

As Music Director, Organist and Choirmaster, Gigi has worked with several churches in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including an interim position at First Church UU Providence RI. She comes to us from St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Providence RI.
Gigi brings energy, and musical creativity. She looks forward to performing on our instruments and working with our singers to bring an interesting variety of great music to enhance our services. Rev. Edmund Robinson and our congregation warmly welcome her.
