“In the End” Sermon by Rev. Dr. Stephanie May

Sermon: “In the End”
Rev. Dr. Stephanie May
In the arc of storytelling, most endings are typically characterized as comedy or tragedy. And yet, as humorist Erma Bombeck said, “There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt.” What different lessons do we draw from comic and tragic endings? And how might the thin line between the two shape our understanding of the mix of joy and sorrow in our own lives?
For Families: Childcare for children aged 1-8 is available with Noah and Anna. We will share a story for all ages in the service. Following the story, older children are invited to remain in the service after or to join Noah and Anna for stories, play, and craft. Children of all ages are also always welcome in the sanctuary.
