Sermon: “Our Common Humanity”

This sermon is based on an incident I experienced when I was living and working in Malawi – a country that calls itself ‘The Warm Heart of Africa.’  There I learned, yet again, how humbling it can be when people from completely different cultures and economic circumstances, with no language in common, are still able to show respect and love for each other in an encounter we could call grace.

Bio: A member of First Church since 2020, Dr. Collins has had a long history with the church through family connections and is a current member of the Standing Committee.  A life-long learner and traveler, she now lives in Brookline with her mother, her sister, a cat, and a dog.
