The metaphor of the body politic has been used since ancient times, as well as in the 1629 Charter for the Massachusetts Bay colony. While typically used as a metaphor to underscore our relations to each other, the body politic also highlights the embodied nature of political life. On the eve of the 2024 Election, what is at stake for the bodies of the people who make up the nation?
For Families: Childcare for children ages 1-8 available with Noah and Jackie. First Church Boston storyteller, Rev. Hank Peirce, will share a story for all ages in the service. Following the story, older children are invited to remain in the service or to join Noah and Jackie for stories, play, and craft.
