Sermon: “Dreaming the Future Into Being”

Imagination is a political practice. It is an active way that we reflect on the reality of the world and name what needs to change. We imagine new ways of being in relationship to each other and to Earth. In doing so, we slowly begin to shape its form and identify the pathway to draw it ever closer. On this Martin Luther King Day weekend, join us in our collective dreaming about the future.

Bio: Zoë Johnston (she/her) is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist currently based in Philadelphia. She works as the Network Coordinator for Unitarian Universalist Young Adults for Climate Justice, a caucus of the UU Ministry for Earth. Zoë is also a graduate student studying International Peace and Conflict Resolution. Her work is focused on building intentional communities that experience the full complexity of relationships, care and conflict, in the pursuit of liberation. Zoë loves to read, crochet, cook delicious food, and is an aspirational gardener.

For Families: Childcare for children ages 1-8 available in the John Winthrop school with Laura and Sheila. The service will include a story for all ages. Older children are invited to remain in the service or to join Laura and Shelia for stories, play, and craft.
