Rosemary Kean & Jo-Ann Kwass, FCB Social Justice Community members

When

August 27
11:00am - 12:00pm

Event Type

Please join us when our 11AM morning service will raise up social justice themes, including some of those addressed at our June UU General Assembly. If there is interest, we can gather after coffee hour to share ideas, concerns, and feedback.

In September our community partner, the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, GBIO, is offering trainings on how to organize “In District Meetings” with our state reps and senators. We want to engage our electeds this fall around the GBIO Housing Justice Campaign, which is one way we here at First Church are involved in pushing to end the suffering of housing insecurity and homelessness.

FYI, the link below is to a WGBH article addressing the Massachusetts housing/ shelter crisis. It features Governor Healy’s response, a number of involved agencies, and GBIO clergyperson, Rev. Katie Cole, whose Natick congregation has been very active this summer in providing temporary housing and support to unhoused immigrants.
