Dr. Hauke L. Kite-Powell

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

Dr. Kite-Powell, Research Specialist at the Marine Policy Center of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, holds degrees in
marine engineering and ocean systems management from MIT.

His research includes:

  • Public and private sector management of marine resources,
    including costs and benefits of using ocean “space” for nontraditional
    activities (aquaculture and wind power)
  • Contributor to 2021 National Academies of Science, Engineering
    and Medicine study “Reckoning with the U.S. Role in Global
    Ocean Plastic Waste”
