• New artwork on display throughout the church

“Illuminations: Tapestry of Sorrow & of Joy” by Alex Kalil opened at the First Church Boston on Friday evening December 6 and will be on display throughout spaces through January 2025..

Artist Alex Kalil was intrigued to learn that the architect of the 1972 church,  Paul Rudolph, had said of the interior: ‘The space was designed as a great kaleidoscope for light.’ In communion with that original idea,  Kalil both chose works from his existing fabric tapestries and created new ones, illuminating with color and spirit the inner light of creativity.
