A time for celebrations and community
December is a month of celebrations and community. Once again, we will mark the Winter Solstice with a special service at 6:30 p.m. on December 21. This meditative time of readings and candlelight features music by James Ruff, Tenor and Early Gaelic Harp. Â On Christmas Eve, we gather at 5:00 p.m. to celebrate the hope born in new beginnings through special music, familiar carols, and a retelling of the Christmas story.
Throughout the month, we explore the questions “what could it mean to be in community” in our Sunday Services at 11:00 a.m. This question continues the year-long re-imaging of our 1630 Covenant as we consider what it means to be religious today. To discuss this question, Lindsay Donnelly-Bullington, our Intern Minister, hosts a monthly Covenant Circle on Monday, December 9, 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 8, is Bodhi Day, the Buddha’s birthday. On this auspicious date, a Meditation Group will begin meeting at 10:30 a.m. This is a chance to gather with others in stillness before the service. No experience meditating is required.
