“Touch Grass” Sermon by Rev. Dr. Stephanie May, Mx. Ebonié Smith-Cooper

Sermon: “Touch Grass”
Rev. Dr. Stephanie May, Mx. Ebonié Smith-Cooper
In a joyful service marking the end of the church year,* we celebrate the annual ritual of Flower Communion. Drawing on a popular internet meme to put down devices, get offline, and go outside to “touch grass,” we reflect on the possibilities of renewal that nature and summer brings.
Please bring a flower to share (or flowers will be provided) and plan to stay for a BBQ following the service.
*Next Sunday will be a special livestream from the annual UUA General Assembly. Then, Sunday, June 28 begins Summer Services in the air-conditioned chapel. Led by a guest minister or lay-leader, each service includes piano music and a soloist. Learn more online. We return to the Sanctuary for a new church year on Sunday, September 13, beginning with Charter Day followed by Water Sunday on September.
For Families: Children of all ages are always welcome in every service. Quiet activities are available in the rear of the chapel. Childcare and religious education classes resume in September.
