Sermon: “Music in the Service of Social Justice” Dr. Catherine Collins
Sermon: “Music in the Service of Social Justice”
Tracing Dr. Collins’ experiences with the Bloomington Unitarian Universalist choir in the late 1990s as the choir, for their contribution to the cause of social justice, performed at the Wabash Valley Correctional Institution, this sermon will discuss lessons learned and how this experience helped resolve some of the challenges Dr. Collins has faced while trying to reconcile her views of spirituality with social justice.
A ‘new’ member of First Church, Dr. Collins has had a long history with the church through family connections. A life-long learner and traveler, she now lives in Brookline with her mother, sister, two cats and a dog.
