Sermon: “The Cause of Freedom Versus Tyranny”

In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries many of our religious ancestors were revolutionaries. They said no to kings. They said no to bishops. They said yes to freedom. Mindful of this, their legacies ask us, what does the cause of freedom versus tyranny require of us today?

A lifelong Unitarian Universalist, the Rev. Dr. Colin Bossen has been serving our congregations for twenty years. He is presently the Senior Minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston and a Visiting Fellow with Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford. He earned a PhD in American Studies and an AM in History from Harvard University. His MDiv is from Meadville Lombard Theological School. For Families: Childcare for children aged 1-8 is available.  Rev. Dr. Stephanie May, Senior Minister, will share a story for all ages in the service. Following the story, older children are invited to remain in the service after or to join Noah and Anna for stories, play, and craft. Children of all ages are also always welcome in the sanctuary.
