 time pastor of the Second Church of Boston*\, Ralph Waldo Emerson once pro
 claimed\, “All men are poets at heart. They serve nature for bread\, but
  her loveliness overcomes them sometimes.”  In this spirit\, we invite 
 all to ring out the year in a casual gathering of word and song. Bring a f
 avorite poem or reading to share as we celebrate the gift of poetry and la
 nguage.\n\nFor Families: Childcare is on a holiday break and will return i
 n the new year on Sunday\, January 5. Children are invited to remain in th
 e service and/or enjoy quiet activities in the rear of the sanctuary on th
