From the ancient Greek maxim “Know Thyself” to Henry David Thoreau’s retreat to “live deliberately” to today’s “selfie” culture, the search for self-understanding permeates our culture. In what ways might self-knowledge enrich our living and in what ways might the search for self disrupt our connections to others? As we engage with Coming-of-Age stories this month, we explore what it means to deepen our self-knowledge at any age.
For Families: Childcare for children aged 1-8 is available with Noah and Anna. We will share a story for all ages in the service. Following the story, older children are invited to remain in the service after or to join Noah and Anna for stories, play, and craft. Children of all ages are also always welcome in the sanctuary.
