Tim finished a three-year Consulting Ministry at the Foxborough Universalist Church, in Foxborough Massachusetts in July, 2015. He’s excited and grateful to be reconnecting with First Church in Boston.
As many of you know, in his “old life,” he was an actor, theatre director, and college teacher. He taught at Emerson College in Boston for 20 plus years – full- and part-time - both in the Division of Performing Arts and the Division of Writing, Literature & Publishing.
Tim received his Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in 2009. He was the ministerial intern at First Church in Boston for two years, was ordained at First Church Boston May 22, 2011, and was welcomed into preliminary fellowship by the Unitarian Universalist Minister’s Association at General Assembly in Charlotte NC that June.
Tim is married to Ann Gary, who is on the board of the Unitarian Universalist Partner Church Council, which supports relationships between congregations in North America and those in Transylvania Romania, the Kasi Hills of North Eastern India, the Philippines, and Africa. They have a 20 year-old son, Alex, who is a nationally ranked epee fencer and a junior at Rev. Kendrick’s undergrad alma matter, Princeton University. They a twelve year-old Australian terrier named Baci, who’s a nationally ranked eater and barker who is self-taught.
Tim is especially interested in people and their stories. We need to tell one another our stories and listen deeply to the stories of others. Small group ministry is one of the best places to let that happen. He’s also interested in spirituality and the arts, and tries to find ways to use the many forms of applied, performance, and language arts to open pathways for sensing and expressing our connection with the mysterious source of being that underlies and permeates this life.
